AN ACT TO DEFINE "GUN SHOW"; TO PROHIBIT "GUN SHOWS" ON ANY PROPERTY OWNED OR LEASED BY THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. (1) For the purposes of this act, the following word shall have the meaning ascribed herein unless the context shall otherwise require:

"Gun show" means any public event at which firearms and ammunition are exhibited for sale or display.

(2) It is prohibited for gun shows to be held on any property owned or leased by the State of Mississippi.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2001.
