AN ACT TO REQUIRE GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES WHICH PLACE GRAVEL OR OTHER SUBSTANCES ON ICY ROADS TO REMOVE SUCH GRAVEL OR OTHER SUBSTANCE AFTER THE INCLEMENT WEATHER PASSES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Whenever the state, any state agency, any political subdivision of the state or any other governmental entity places gravel or other substance on icy public roads, streets or highways, during inclement weather, the entity which placed such gravel or other substance on such public roads, streets or highways shall remove such gravel or other substance after the inclement weather passes.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2001.
