AN ACT TO DIRECT THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF INSURANCE AND THE STATE TREASURER TO TRANSFER CERTAIN FUNDS INTO THE STATE GENERAL FUND; TO DIRECT THE STATE FIRE ACADEMY AND THE STATE TREASURER TO TRANSFER CERTAIN FUNDS INTO THE STATE GENERAL FUND; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. (1) The Mississippi Department of Insurance shall transfer the sum of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) out of the funds to the credit of Special Fund 3501 (Assessments and Fees) into the State General Fund.

(2) The Mississippi Department of Insurance shall requisition the State Fiscal Officer for the sum specified in subsection (1), and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrant to the State Treasurer, who shall immediately pay that sum into the State General Fund as provided by law.

SECTION 2. (1) The State Fire Academy shall transfer the sum of Five Hundred Thousand dollars ($500,000.00) out of the funds to the credit of the State Fire Academy Fund (Fund No. 3502) into the State General Fund.

(2) The State Fire Academy shall requisition the State Fiscal Office for the sum specified in subsection (1), and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrant to the State Treasurer, who shall immediately pay that sum into the State General Fund as provided by law.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
