Senate Bill NO. 2903

AMEND by inserting the following language after line 243:

"(15) The Mississippi Business Finance Corporation shall make available to the Small Farm Development Center at Alcorn State University funds in an aggregate amount not to exceed One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00), to be drawn from the cash balance of the Emerging Crops Fund. The Small Farm Development Center at Alcorn State University shall use such funds to make loans to producers of sweet potatoes and cooperatives owned by sweet potato producers to assist in the planting of sweet potatoes and the purchase of sweet potato production and harvesting equipment."

AMEND FURTHER the title by inserting the following language after the semicolon on line 6:

"TO PROVIDE THAT THE MISSISSIPPI BUSINESS FINANCE CORPORATION SHALL MAKE FUNDS AVAILABLE TO THE SMALL FARM DEVELOPMENT CENTER AT ALCORN STATE UNIVERSITY TO BE USED BY THE SMALL FARM DEVELOPMENT CENTER TO MAKE LOANS TO PRODUCERS OF SWEET POTATOES AND COOPERATIVES OWNED BY SWEET POTATO PRODUCERS TO ASSIST IN THE PLANTING OF SWEET POTATOES AND THE PURCHASE OF SWEET POTATO PRODUCTION AND HARVESTING EQUIPMENT;"
