REPORT OF CONFERENCE COMMITTEE
MR. PRESIDENT AND MR. SPEAKER:
We, the undersigned conferees, have had under consideration the amendments to the following entitled BILL:
S. B. No. 3277: Appropriation; Dept. of Corrections - Support and Reimb. Local Confinement.
We, therefore, respectfully submit the following report and recommendation:
1. That the House recede from its Amendment No. 1.
2. That the Senate and House adopt the following amendment:
Amend as follows:
Delete lines 10 through 95 and insert in lieu thereof the following:
fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001
$ 233,756,940.00.
SECTION 2. The following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the special fund in the State Treasury to the credit of the Mississippi Department of Corrections which is collected by or otherwise become available for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the Department, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001 $ 12,624,819.00.
SECTION 3. Of the funds appropriated under the provisions of Sections 1 and 2, not more than the amounts set forth below shall be expended for the respective major objects or purposes of expenditure:

Further, amend by inserting a new Section 13 and a new Section 14 and renumbering subsequent sections, said sections to read as follows:
SECTION 13. Of the funds appropriated under the provisions of Section 1, One Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars ($180,000.00) is provided to the Department of Corrections to defray the expenses associated with contracts for new prison beds that will become available to the Department of Corrections during Fiscal Year 2001.
SECTION 14. Of the funds appropriated under the provisions of Sections 1 and 2, funds are made available and may be expended for salaries associated with the pre-release program.
