REPORT OF CONFERENCE COMMITTEE

MR. PRESIDENT AND MR. SPEAKER:

We, the undersigned conferees, have had under consideration the amendments to the following entitled BILL:

S. B. No. 3260: Appropriation; Econ. & Comm. Develop. Support.

We, therefore, respectfully submit the following report and recommendation:

 

1. That the House recede from its Amendment No. 1.

2. That the Senate and House adopt the following amendment:

 

AMEND as follows:

Line 10: Delete $28,922,657.00; insert $29,237,190.00

Line 17: Delete $122,195,580.00; insert $122,226,553.00

Line 21: Delete the figure 330 and insert the figure 336

Line 22: Delete the figure 1 and insert the figure 3

Line 23: Delete the figure 32 and insert the figure 37

Line 24: Delete the figure 2 and insert the figure 3

After line 45 insert a new paragraph, said new paragraph to read as follows:

Any transfers or escalations shall be made in accordance with the terms, conditions, and procedures established by law.

Delete lines 198 through 201

Insert after line 197 a new Section 15, a new Section 16, a new Section 17, and a new Section 18, and renumber subsequent sections, said new sections to read as follows:

SECTION 15. In addition to all other sums herein appropriated, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any special source funds not otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of providing funds to support the Stennis Space Center - Space Commerce Initiative, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001

$ 4,000,000,00.

SECTION 16. In addition to all other sums herein appropriated, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund, not otherwise appropriated, to the Department of Economic and Community Development for the purpose of providing funds to support the Golden Triangle Education Center for Manufacturing Technology, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001 $ 150,000.00.

The funds herein appropriated shall be held separate and apart from all other funds appropriated to the Department of Economic and Community Development.

SECTION 17. In addition to all other sums herein appropriated, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Department of Economic and Community Development for the purpose of providing funds to support a classroom technology project, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001

$ 2,000,000.00.

The funds herein appropriated shall be held separate and apart from all other funds appropriated to the Department of Economic and Community Development.

SECTION 18. Of the funds appropriated under the provisions of Section 1, Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) shall be used to defray, without limitation, expenses in connection with the costs of responding to military installations and facilities

closure inquiries and pursuing military installations, facilities improvements and enhancement opportunities.
