REPORT OF CONFERENCE COMMITTEE

MR. SPEAKER AND MR. PRESIDENT:

We, the undersigned conferees, have had under consideration the amendments to the following entitled BILL:

H. B. No. 1622: Appropriation; Mississippi Authority for Educational Television.

We, therefore, respectfully submit the following report and recommendation:

 

1. That the Senate recede from its Amendment No. 1.

2. That the House and Senate adopt the following amendment:

 

AMEND by striking lines 10 through 42 and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

and ending June 30, 2001 $ 7,172,404.00.

SECTION 2. The following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the special fund in the State Treasury to the credit of the Mississippi Authority for Educational Television which is comprised of special source funds collected by or otherwise available to the Authority, for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the Authority for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001

$ 5,859,828.00.

SECTION 3. Of the funds appropriated under the provisions of Section 1 and Section 2, not more than the amounts set forth below shall be expended for the respective major objects or purposes of expenditure:

Personal Services:

Salaries, Wages and Fringe Benefits $ 5,248,320.00

Travel and Subsistence 140,000.00

Contractual Services 5,344,983.00

Commodities 627,537.00

Capital Outlay:

Other Than Equipment 0.00

Equipment 1,671,192.00

Subsidies, Loans and Grants 200.00

Total $ 13,032,232.00

FUNDING:

General Funds $ 7,172,404.00

Special Funds 5,859,828.00

AMEND FURTHER by inserting the following new SECTION 9 after line 135 and renumbering succeeding sections:

SECTION 9. Of the funds provided herein, Eight Thousand Six Hundred Seventy-Six Dollars ($8,676.00) is provided for the reallocations for three (3) positions in the Mississippi Authority for Educational Television.
