REPORT OF CONFERENCE COMMITTEE

MR. SPEAKER AND MR. PRESIDENT:

We, the undersigned conferees, have had under consideration the amendments to the following entitled BILL:

H. B. No. 1613: Appropriation; Attorney General - support.

We, therefore, respectfully submit the following report and recommendation:

 

1. That the House concur in Senate Amendment No. 1 with the following exception(s):

 

AMEND on line 10 by changing the figure "$7,271,534.00" to "$7,574,751.00"

AMEND FURTHER on line 18 by changing the figure "$7,976,981.00" to "$9,073,506.00"

AMEND FURTHER on line 23 by changing "95" to "112"

AMEND FURTHER on line 25 by changing "126" to "138"

AMEND FURTHER on lines 79 and 80 by changing the words and figures "Four Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars ($480,000.00)" to "Six Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($650,000.00)"

AMEND FURTHER by inserting the following new Sections 11 and 12 after line 148 and renumbering succeeding sections:

SECTION 11. Of the funds appropriated under the provisions of Section 1, the amount of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00), or so much thereof as may be necessary, shall be made available for expenditures for the Drug Courts Pilot Programs.

SECTION 12. It is the intention of the Legislature that the Attorney General's Office shall have the authority to accept, budget and expend any source funds not to exceed Two Million Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($2,200,000.00) that become available to the office for Boys and Girls Clubs and Communities in Schools and to carry out the provisions of those funds in a manner consistent with the rules and regulations of the Department of Finance and Administration. The Attorney General's Office is further authorized to escalate the amount of the category of Subsidies, Loans and Grants in an amount not to exceed Two Million Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($2,200,000.00).

2. That the Senate concur in the above exception(s).
