REPORT OF CONFERENCE COMMITTEE

MR. SPEAKER AND MR. PRESIDENT:

We, the undersigned conferees, have had under consideration the amendments to the following entitled BILL:

H. B. No. 1609: Appropriation; Department of Archives and History.

We, therefore, respectfully submit the following report and recommendation:

 

1. That the Senate recede from its Amendment No. 1.

2. That the House and Senate adopt the following amendment:

 

AMEND by striking lines 10 through 42 and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

June 30, 2001 $ 8,548,765.00.

SECTION 2. The following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the special fund in the State Treasury to the credit of the Department of Archives and History which is comprised of special source funds collected by or otherwise available to the department, for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the department for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001

$ 2,162,886.00.

SECTION 3. With the funds appropriated under the provisions of Section 1 and Section 2, the following positions are authorized:

AUTHORIZED POSITIONS:

Permanent: Full Time 146

Part Time 29

Time-Limited: Full Time 6

Part Time 5

AMEND FURTHER on line 94 by changing the figure "$82,072.00" to "$259,021.00"

AMEND FURTHER on line 97 by changing the number "1" to "7".

AMEND FURTHER by inserting the following new SECTION 12 after line 149 and renumbering succeeding sections:

SECTION 12. The following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated to the Mississippi Department of Archives and History for the Oral Histories Project for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001...............................................$ 150,000.00.
