A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE CORINTH HIGH SCHOOL "WARRIORS" BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE CLASS 3A CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, the Corinth High School "Warriors" Boys Varsity Basketball Team culminated the 1999-2000 season by winning the Class 3A Championship; and
WHEREAS, with this impressive victory, the Warriors compiled an outstanding record of 30 wins and only 8 losses; and
WHEREAS, on the road to the state championship, the team won the Alcorn County Championship and the District Championship; and
WHEREAS, all members of the team contributed to the overall success of this season, and the roster is as follows: Perry Williams, Ryan Bell, Jeremy Loving, Bryan Brown, Galvin Green, Rico Wood, Marcus Howard, Taurean Morton, Jimmy Taylor, Michael Crayton, Grant Roberts, Emmanuel Stafford, Nick Dodd and Taurean Triplett, and Managers Brandon Robbins and Phil Hoyle; and
WHEREAS, the team was led by Coach David Robbins and Assistant Coach Keith Greene, who molded this squad into a championship unit; and
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize the achievements of this fine group of student athletes, who have brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Corinth High School "Warriors" Boys Varsity Basketball Team for winning the Class 3A Championship, and wish them continued success in their future athletic and scholastic endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Head Coach David Robbins on behalf of the team, and Principal Joel Myrick, and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
