Senate Concurrent Resolution 610
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE SCOTT CENTRAL "LADY REBELS" GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE CLASS 1A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, the Scott Central High School "Lady Rebels" Girls Basketball Team won the Class 1A State Championship; and
WHEREAS, by this impressive victory the Lady Rebels compiled an impressive 31-7 record; and
WHEREAS, on the road to the State Championship, they won the Scott Central Invitational Tournament, made the semifinals in the East Central Community College Tournament, won runner-up in the Enterprise Tournament, made the semifinals in the Scott County Tournament, won the Division 6 Class 1A Championship and placed third in the South Mississippi Regional Tournament; and
WHEREAS, the team was ably led by Coach Chad Harrison, who molded the squad into a championship unit; and
WHEREAS, the 1999-2000 season was truly a team effort, and the Scott Central Girls Basketball Team roster is as follows: Ashley Brown, Clarissa Murrell, Britney Burks, Kattie Nickson, Latoya Walton, Patricia Odom, Natasha Battle, Jacqueline McBride, Marquitta Anderson, Telisa Callahan, Tekeyla Singleton, Monica Walton, Lanee' Riley, Lakeshia Bobbitt, with Managers, Crystil Anderson, Latoyra Lewis, Tameshia Butler and Bookkeeper, Linda Williamson; and
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize the impressive achievements of this group of student athletes, who have brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Scott Central High School "Lady Rebels" Girls Basketball Team for winning the Class 1A State Girls Basketball Championship, and wish them continued success in their future academic and athletic endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Coach Chad Harrison on behalf of the team and to the Principal of Scott Central High School, and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
