A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING MISS KENDRA LARIMORE UPON WINNING THE MISSISSIPPI BOWHUNTERS ASSOCIATION STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN THE YOUTH TRADITIONAL CATEGORY.
WHEREAS, Miss Kendra Larimore, of Busy Corner, Mississippi, recently won the Mississippi Bowhunters Association State Championship in the Youth Traditional Category; and
WHEREAS, Miss Larimore competed against both men and women from ages 14 to 17 to win the championship, which was held at the Red Hills Archery Club in Louisville, Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, during the competition, Kendra Larimore used a 42-pound-draw osage orange longbow and arrows made by her father, Mike Larimore; and
WHEREAS, Kendra Larimore has been bowhunting for approximately 3 years, but only recently started using the longbow in the middle of 1999; and
WHEREAS, a tenth-grader at Amite County High School, Kendra Larimore is a member of the Family Career Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and was named Student of the Nine Weeks for October 18-December 17, 1999, at the Amite County Vo-Tech Center; and
WHEREAS, Kendra Larimore was also named for an Above Average Award in English I while in the 9th grade at Amite County High School; and
WHEREAS, Miss Larimore is the daughter of Mike and Melba Larimore; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the young people of our state, who are its future:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That
we do hereby commend and congratulate Miss Kendra Larimore upon winning the Mississippi Bowhunters Association State Championship in the Youth Traditional Category.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Kendra Larimore and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
