AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION OF CHILD CARE DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING CHILD CARE SERVICES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2001.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of Child Care Development Block Grant funds in the State Treasury to the credit of the Department of Health for purpose of providing child care services for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending
June 30, 2001 $43,000,000.00.
SECTION 2. The funds appropriated under the provisions of Section 1 shall be administered by the Department of Health and shall be allocated as follows:
Child Care Programs $ 25,000,000.00.
Community Based Contractual Child Care $ 8,000,000.00.
Head Start Wrap Around $ 10,000,000.00.
Total $ 43,000,000.00.
SECTION 3. The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the proper fund or funds as set forth in this act, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2000.
