AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE PAYMENT OF A FIRE FEE APPLICABLE TO CERTAIN STATE-OWNED BUILDINGS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The State of Mississippi shall pay a yearly fee in the amount of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.00) as an annual fire fee to defray the costs incurred by local government in providing fire protection to all state-owned buildings located within the boundaries of the city in which the seat of state government is located.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2000.
