AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR ELECTRONIC SIGNATURES ON MEDICAL RECORDS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. An electronic medical record or medical order containing an electronic signature is signed as a matter of law if the electronic signature is affixed or verified in conformity with a reasonable security procedure for the purpose of verification of electronic signatures.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2000.
