AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION, ACTING ON BEHALF OF THE DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH, TO SELL AND CONVEY TO LAZY BOY SOUTH, INC., A CERTAIN PARCEL OF PROPERTY LYING IN THE CITY OF NEWTON, NEWTON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) The Department of Finance and Administration, acting on behalf of the Department of Mental Health, and upon meeting the requirements of Section 29-1-1, may sell and convey to Lazy Boy South, Inc., a parcel of property in the City of Newton, Newton County, Mississippi, and being more particularly described as follows:
Start at an existing iron pin at the Southwest corner
of Section 27, T6N, R11E, City of Newton, Newton County,
Mississippi, and run thence North, 295.50 feet to an
existing iron pin; thence East, 430.56 feet to the point
of beginning: Thence N 17

N27'E, 344.33 feet to an existing iron pin; thenceS 61
N06'W, 417.70 feet to an existing concrete monument;thence West, 59.04 feet to the point of beginning. The
herein described property contains 1.40 acres, more or
less, and is situated in the SW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of
Section 27, T6N, R11E, City of Newton, Newton County,
Mississippi.
The Department of Finance and Administration may have the parcel of property surveyed.
(2) The real property described in subsection (1) of this section shall be sold for not less than the current fair market value as determined by the averaging of at least two (2) appraisals by qualified appraisers who shall be selected by the Department of Finance and Administration and shall be certified and licensed by the Mississippi Real Estate Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board.
(3) Any funds received by the State of Mississippi for the conveyance of the real property described in subsection (1) of this section shall be deposited into the Central Mississippi Residential Center Fund.
(4) The State of Mississippi shall retain all mineral rights to the real property sold pursuant to this section.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
