AN ACT TO DESIGNATE A CERTAIN SECTION OF MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY 8 IN MONROE COUNTY AS JO DOSS MILLER MEMORIAL DRIVE; TO AMEND SECTIONS 65-3-71.49 AND 65-3-71.50, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO REVISE THE DESCRIPTION OF THE JOHN MCPHERSON HIGHWAY AND THE GEORGE HARRIS, SR., MEMORIAL HIGHWAY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. (1) That portion of Mississippi Highway 8, beginning at the intersection of Mississippi Highway 8 and U.S. Highway 45 and extending the intersection of Mississippi Highway 8 and Oakland Drive, shall be known as "Jo Doss Miller Memorial Drive."

(2) The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching the segment of highway described in subsection (1) of this section.

SECTION 2. Section 65-3-71.49, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

65-3-71.49. (1) That portion of U.S. Highway 82 within Carroll County * * * shall be known as the "John McPherson Highway."

(2) The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching that portion of U.S. highway 82 described in subsection (1) of this section.

SECTION 3. Section 65-3-71.50, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

65-3-71.50. (1) That portion of U.S. Highway 82 within Montgomery County shall be known as the "George Harris, Sr., Memorial Highway."

(2) The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching that portion of U.S. Highway 82 described in subsection (1) of this section.

SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
