A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LIFE AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF MR. CURTIS HOLSTON AND EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS UPON HIS PASSING.
WHEREAS, Mr. Curtis Holston, a native of Poplarville, Mississippi, departed this life on April 18, 2000, causing a great loss to his family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Holston, son of the late Curtis and Verma Amacker Holston, was born on February 18, 1939; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Holston served the people of the State of Mississippi as a member of the House of Representatives for eight years; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Holston worked for an oil field industry and as a farmer; and
WHEREAS, an active member of his community, Mr. Holston was a member of the First Baptist Church of Poplarville, Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Holston is survived by his wife, Virginia Greer Holston; three children, Victoria, John Curtis and Sam; five grandchildren and many extended family members; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives of the State of Mississippi to recognize and commend outstanding Mississippians such as Mr. Curtis Holston:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the life and accomplishments of Mr. Curtis Holston and express our deepest sympathy to his family and friends upon his passing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the family of Mr. Curtis Holston and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
