A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MRS. EVELYN JONES ROSS UPON THE CELEBRATION OF HER 90TH BIRTHDAY.
WHEREAS, Mrs. Evelyn Jones Ross, a lifelong resident of Carroll County, Mississippi, will celebrate her 90th birthday on April 4, 2000; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Ross began her long and distinguished teaching career in a one-teacher school and finished her 42-year teaching career in a multidisciplined educational system; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Ross first joined the Presbyterian Church at Blackmonton and then at Vaiden Shongalo Presbyterian Church, where she remains very active; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Ross has been lovingly supported in all her endeavors by her husband, J.K. Ross; their daughter, Ann Ross Wardlaw; two grandchildren, Douglas and Amanda; and two great-grandchildren, Justin and Kayla; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and pay special tribute to outstanding Mississippians such as Mrs. Ross, who has dedicated her career to educating the young people of this state:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mrs. Evelyn Jones Ross upon the celebration of her 90th birthday on April 4, 2000, and extend our heartiest wishes for years of happiness, good health, peace and joy.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mrs. Evelyn Jones Ross and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
