A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE 2000 WEST POINT SCHOOL DISTRICT RETIREES AFTER MANY YEARS OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE.
WHEREAS, the following persons will retire from the West Point School District in 2000 after giving many years of their time and service to the youth of the West Point School District and the citizens of West Point: Lucille D. Armstrong, 30 years of service; Anita C. Blackwell, 25 years of service; Annie Fair, 28 years of service; Joe E. Holmes, 25 years of service; Elsie D. Massey, 30 years of service; Annie Jean Matthews, 30 years of service; Carolyn H. Odom, 30 years of service; and Rachel R. Williams, 29 years of service; and
WHEREAS, these retirees have unselfishly dedicated their efforts to assisting the West Point School District in furthering its goals of educating, training and molding the students of the district to be adults and future leaders; and
WHEREAS, the people of Mississippi are extremely proud of these retirees, who have dedicated so many years of service to the City of West Point and the State of Mississippi in furthering the educational and social development of the students of the West Point Public School District:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we commend, congratulate and recognize 2000 Retirees of the West Point School District after providing so many years of dedicated service to the youth and citizens of West Point.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to each of the retirees named in this resolution, the Board of Trustees of the West Point School District and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
