A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING RESERVOIR THUNDER 12-YEAR-OLD SELECT BASEBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE 1999 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the Reservoir Thunder 12-year-old Select Baseball Team won the 1999 World Series Championship Game in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and

WHEREAS, the World Series Championship consisted of 56 Teams from across the country, and the Thunder defeated a total of eight teams to win the Championship; and

WHEREAS, the Championship Teams consisted of many talented young baseball players, including Brett Adams, Brock Ainsworth, William Anderson, Chris Bither, Todd McInnis, Ryan McInnis, Dustin Mills, Tyler Moore, Joe Scalzo, Justin Smith and Tyler Walker; and WHEREAS, the Reservoir Thunder has been superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach David McInnis and Assistant Coaches W.L. Anderson and Kevin Carpenter, who have broadened the Thunder's knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

WHEREAS, the Thunder has developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and its activities and attitude reflect great credit upon the individual players and its coaches and bring honor to the State of Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the youth of our state, who are its future:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Reservoir Thunder 12-year-old Select Baseball Team and their coaches, Head Coach David McInnis and Assistant Coaches W.L. Anderson and Kevin Carpenter, for winning the 1999 World Series Championship Game in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That copies of this resolution be furnished to Head Coach David McInnis and Assistant Coaches W.L. Anderson and Kevin Carpenter and to members of the Capitol Press Corps.
