A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING MR. NICK PETERMAN UPON BEING NAMED 1999-2000 NATCHEZ-ADAMS COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT TEACHER OF THE YEAR.
WHEREAS, Mr. Nick Peterman was recently named 1999-2000 Natchez-Adams County School District Teacher of the Year and will represent his district in a statewide contest; and
WHEREAS, after graduating from Natchez High School in 1990, Mr. Peterman attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College and received a degree in mathematics education from Alcorn State University; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Peterman returned to his alma mater, Natchez High School, where he teaches Algebra I and ninth-grade honors geometry; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his teaching responsibilities, Mr. Peterman assists with computer work, the ACT and Functional Literary Exam workshops and is a Key Club sponsor; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Peterman has been lovingly supported in all his endeavors by his wife, Emily, and their two year old daughter, Lindsey; and
WHEREAS, this Legislature finds it most appropriate to recognize and commend outstanding educators such as Mr. Nick Peterman, a teacher dedicated to guiding the young people of this state, who are its future:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mr. Nick Peterman upon being named the 1999-2000 Natchez-Adams County Teacher of the Year and express our deepest appreciation for his services as teacher in the State of Mississippi.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Nick Peterman and to members of the Capitol Press Corps.
