AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF TALLAHATCHIE COUNTY TO CONTRACT WITH THE TALLAHATCHIE COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION, INC., FOR REPAIR, RENOVATION, IMPROVEMENT, EQUIPPING AND/OR CONSTRUCTION WORK ON CERTAIN COUNTY FACILITIES, AND FOR MAKING OTHER REPAIRS, RENOVATIONS, IMPROVEMENTS AND/OR EQUIPPING OF THOSE FACILITIES; TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO EXPEND CERTAIN SUMS TO FUND THE CONTRACT WITH THE ASSOCIATION AND TO MAKE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS, RENOVATIONS, IMPROVEMENTS AND/OR EQUIPPING OF THOSE FACILITIES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Tallahatchie County, Mississippi, in its discretion, may contract with the Tallahatchie County Fair Association, Inc., on such terms as the board deems best to promote the welfare and interests of Tallahatchie County, for repair, renovation, improvement, equipping and/or construction work on the Tallahatchie County livestock barn and the women's building located near the livestock barn, and for making other repairs, renovations, improvements and/or equipping of both of those facilities. In addition, the board of supervisors may expend not more than Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) annually during each of calendar years 2000 and 2001, from any funds available to the county, to fund the contract with the Tallahatchie County Fair Association, Inc., and to make the necessary repairs, renovations, improvements and/or equipping of both of those facilities.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
