AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF TUNICA COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE TUNICA COUNTY ARENA AND EXPOSITION CENTER, INCORPORATED, FOR THE PURPOSE OF OPERATING AND MAINTAINING THE ARENA AND EXPOSITION CENTER; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Tunica County is hereby authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to contribute to the Tunica County Arena and Exposition Center, Incorporated, by leasing the Battle Arena and related assets of Tunica County to the Tunica County Arena and Exposition Center, Incorporated, for an annual lease payment of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), by providing funding to the Tunica County Arena and Exposition Center, Incorporated, and by contracting with the Tunica County Arena and Exposition Center, Incorporated, to provide the funding authorized in this section for a period not to exceed twenty (20) years. The funds provided to the Tunica County Arena and Exposition Center, Incorporated, pursuant to this section shall be used for the operation and maintenance of the arena and exposition center, in Tunica County, Mississippi, including the assigning of personnel to work with the Tunica County Arena and Exposition Center, Incorporated.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after May 1, 2000.
