AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ISSAQUENA COUNTY TO TRANSFER TO THE RIVERSIDE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT THE SUM OF FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS RECEIVED BY THE COUNTY THROUGH PARTICIPATION IN ROUND 2 OF THE RURAL FIRE TRUCK ACQUISITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM; TO PROVIDE THAT SUCH MONIES SO TRANSFERRED SHALL BE USED FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF MONIES EXPENDED BY THE RIVERSIDE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT FOR THE PURCHASE OF A NEW CLASS A PUMPER OBTAINED FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FIRE PROTECTION WITHIN ISSAQUENA COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Issaquena County, in its discretion, may transfer to the Riverside Fire Protection District the sum of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) received by the county through participation in Round 2 of the Rural Fire Truck Acquisition Assistance Program. Such monies so transferred shall be used for reimbursement of monies expended by the Riverside Fire Protection District for the purchase of a new Class A pumper obtained for the purpose of providing fire protection within Issaquena County pursuant to contract entered into by Issaquena County and Riverside Fire Protection District. The Riverside Fire Protection District shall be responsible for providing local matching funds and meeting any other provisions or eligibility requirements for receipt of such funds under Section 17-23-1, Mississippi Code of 1972.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
