AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE OFFICE OF MINORITY BUSINESS ENTERPRISES IN THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING FIVE REGIONAL BUREAUS THROUGHOUT THE STATE AND FUNDING A DISPARITY STUDY, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2001.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund, not otherwise appropriated, to the Office of Minority Business Enterprises in the Department of Economic and Community Development, for the purpose of establishing five regional bureaus throughout the state and funding the disparity study as provided in Section 57-69-5, Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended in House Bill No. 1474, 2000 Regular Session, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001 $1,000,000.00.
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer, and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers, in the manner provided by law.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2000.
