AN ACT TO DIRECT THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO INCLUDE ON ITS ANNUAL OFFICIAL HIGHWAY MAP OF MISSISSIPPI THE COMMUNITY KNOWN AS HONEY ISLAND; TO REQUIRE THE DEPARTMENT TO ERECT AND MAINTAIN SIGNS ON AND ALONG HIGHWAYS AND ROADS APPROACHING HONEY ISLAND TO INDICATE THE COMMUNITY'S LOCATION; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall include on its annual official highway map of Mississippi the community known as Honey Island located in Humphreys County just southeast of Belzoni. The department also shall erect and maintain signs on and along highways and roads approaching Honey Island to indicate the community's location.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2000.
