AN ACT TO PROHIBIT THE FIRING OF WEAPONS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF ANY MUNICIPALITY; TO PROVIDE FOR THE SEIZURE AND FORFEITURE OF SUCH WEAPONS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful to discharge any firearm within the corporate limits of any municipality. Any person who violates the provisions of this section shall, upon conviction, be fined not more than One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) and the firearm shall be seized and forfeited as provided in Section 97-31-1.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2000.
