AN ACT TO REQUIRE ALL DIVISION I-A UNIVERSITIES IN THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI TO PLAY AGAINST EACH OTHER IN FOOTBALL EVERY YEAR; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) The Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning shall require all Division I-A universities in the State of Mississippi to play against each other in football every year.
(2) The hosting team will determine the location of the game.
(3) The annual designation of the hosting team for the game between the University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University shall continue in the sequence in effect on July 1, 2000.
(4) The University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University shall host the game against the University of Southern Mississippi during the 2000-2001 academic year, and the University of Southern Mississippi shall be the hosting team in the 2001-2002 academic year. In the following years, this designation will alternate yearly in like sequence.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2000.
