A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION TO ENCOURAGE THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TO ENCOURAGE IMPLEMENTATION IN ALL PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICTS OF A CHARACTER EDUCATION PROGRAM; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby encourage the State Department of Education to facilitate implementation in all public school districts of age-appropriate character education programs which focus on basic character traits of honesty, courage, patriotism, citizenship, friendship, responsibility, self-discipline, respect, courtesy, compassion, punctuality, cleanliness, respect for nature, loyalty and perseverance.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to the State Superintendent of Education and to the State Board of Education.
