AN ACT TO MAKE THE WINTERVILLE INDIAN MOUNDS PARK IN WASHINGTON COUNTY A STATE PARK UNDER THE MANAGEMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ARCHIVES AND HISTORY; TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF WASHINGTON COUNTY TO DONATE THE WINTERVILLE INDIAN MOUNDS PARK TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ARCHIVES AND HISTORY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. There is established within the Warfield Point County Park in Washington County a state park to be managed by the Department of Archives and History in accordance with its powers and duties under Section 25-59-9, Mississippi Code of 1972.
The Board of Supervisors of Washington County is authorized to donate the Winterville Indian Mounds Park to the Department of Archives and History to be managed as a state park as provided in this section.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1998.
