AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT THE PARTY ASKING THE FIRST QUESTION AT CERTAIN DEPOSITIONS IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING THE COURT REPORTER FOR THE ORIGINAL DEPOSITION; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. For any deposition taken under Section 13-1-227 or 13-1-229, the party that asks the first question at the deposition is responsible for paying the court reporter for the original deposition.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1998.
