A RESOLUTION COMMENDING DR. RAYGENE PAIGE FOR HER SERVICE AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE ADVANCEMENT OF CULTURAL DIVERSITY AT THE COOPERATIVE EXTENSION SERVICE AND FOR BEING SELECTED AS BLACK HISTORY MONTH EDUCATOR BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF STATE INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING.
WHEREAS, Dr. Raygene Paige, State Program Leader, Family and Consumer Education, Mississippi State University Cooperative Extension Service was selected as Black History Month Educator by the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Raygene Paige's commitment to service, tireless work, and exemplary leadership has resulted in the Mississippi State University Cooperative Extension Service functioning as a multi-cultural organization; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Raygene Paige was the guiding light in the development of programs which fostered understanding and appreciation of diversity through education; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Raygene Paige has earned the respect of her coworkers and her clientele of all races; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Raygene Paige was instrumental in molding the Mississippi State University Cooperative Extension Service into an integrated, mutually supportive and dedicated group of people who understand and respect the differences and rights of others; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Raygene Paige's success can best be summarized by the adage: "She practices what she preaches."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MISSISSIPPI STATE SENATE, That we do hereby commend Dr. Raygene Paige for her contribution to the advancement of cultural diversity at the Mississippi State University Cooperative Extension Service and for being selected as Black History Month Educator by the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning.
