AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF COAHOMA COUNTY PRIOR TO THE ABANDONMENT OF A COUNTY ROAD DOES NOT HAVE TO MAKE A FINDING THAT SUCH ROAD HAS NOT BEEN MAINTAINED AS A PART OF THE COUNTY ROAD SYSTEM FOR THE PREVIOUS FIVE YEARS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 65-7-121(1)(c), Mississippi Code of 1972, to the contrary, it shall not be necessary for the Board of Supervisors of Coahoma County when declaring any section of the county road system abandoned to find that for a period of at least the previous five (5) consecutive years prior to the date of abandonment the county has not maintained the section as part of the county road system.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
