AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 25-3-17, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT THE BOARDS OF SUPERVISORS MAY BE PAID TWICE A MONTH; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Section 25-3-17, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

25-3-17. The salaries provided in Sections 25-3-13 and 25-3-15 shall be payable monthly on the first day of each calendar month during the calendar year following that in which the total assessed valuation is determined; provided, however, the board of supervisors may by resolution determine that such salaries shall be paid on the fifteenth (15th) day and the last day of each month. The chancery clerk shall draw his warrant on the general fund of the county, the county road and bridge fund, or any fund of the county available for such purposes.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
