AN ACT MAKING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FROM SPECIAL FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ARCHIVES AND HISTORY TO CONDUCT AN EVALUATION OF AN HISTORIC SHIPWRECK SITE FOR FISCAL YEARS 1997 AND 1998. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. In addition to all other sums heretofore appropriated, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the Tidelands Fund (Fund 3450) not otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the Department of Archives and History from and after passage and through June 30, 1998 . . . $40,000.00.

SECTION 2. This additional appropriation is made for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the Department of Archives and History to conduct a Phase I underwater archeological evaluation of the historic shipwreck site near the eastern shore of the Bay of Biloxi, designated as state site 22Ja542.

SECTION 3. The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the proper special fund not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage, and through June 30, 1998.
