AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE FORESTRY COMMISSION TO SUPPLEMENT THE SEVERANCE TAX FUNDS APPROPRIATED TO THE STATE FORESTRY COMMISSION'S FOREST RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FUND #3456 WITH MONEY IN THE STATE GENERAL FUND, NOT TO EXCEED $2,000,000.00, FOR FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 1998. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the State Forestry Commission for the support and maintenance of the State Forestry Commission's Forest Resource Development Program for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1997, and ending June 30, 1998

$2,000,000.00.

SECTION 2. It is the intention of the Legislature that the State Forestry Commission be allowed to escalate its budget in the Subsidies, Loans & Grants Category, by an amount not to exceed Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00).

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1997.
