AN ACT TO DESIGNATE A PORTION OF MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY 21 IN NESHOBA COUNTY AS THE "ARTHUR WINSTEAD MEMORIAL HIGHWAY"; TO DESIGNATE A PORTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 11 WITHIN THE CITY OF HATTIESBURG AS "VETERANS MEMORIAL DRIVE"; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

 

SECTION 1. (1) That portion of Mississippi Highway 21 in Neshoba County from its intersection with Mississippi 15 and Mississippi 19 northeasterly to the Neshoba County line shall be known as the "Arthur Winstead Memorial Highway."

(2) The following portion of U.S. Highway 11 within the corporate limits of the City of Hattiesburg shall be known as "Veterans Memorial Drive":

Beginning at the intersection of U.S. Highway 11

and U.S. Highway 59, more particularly U.S.

Highway 11 M.D.O.T. Station No. 494+80, thence

northeasterly along U.S. Highway 11 to the

intersection of U.S. Highway 11 and South 28th

Avenue Extension, more particularly U.S.

Highway 11 M.D.O.T. Station No. 608+9907.

(3) The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching such highways.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1997.
