House Resolution 48
A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING A NUMBER OF DEDICATED EDUCATORS AND SCHOOL STAFF EMPLOYEES ON THEIR RETIREMENT FROM THE COLUMBUS MUNICIPAL SCHOOL DISTRICT AFTER MANY YEARS OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE.
WHEREAS, the following educators and school staff employees retired from the Columbus Municipal School District in 1996 and 1997 after rendering many years of dedicated service: Idabelle Ables, with over 25 years of service; Minnie Armour, with 9 years of service; Flora Brown, with over 37 years of service; Willie Mae Clayton, with over 28 years of service; Deborah Fancher, with 25 years of service; Haywood Hawkins with 32 years of service; Mary Holmes, with 36 years of service; Eddie Johnson, with 34 years of service; Lanelle McMillen, with over 22 years of service; Delories Neaves, with over 11 years of service; Linda Norris, with 26 years of service; Dorothy Rogers, with 10 years of service; Gerald Ryals, with 17 years of service; Lois Spruill, with 23 years of service; J. P. Thomas, with over 9 years of service; Georgia Mae Williams, with 39 years of service; Anne Wilson, with 23 years of service; and Edna Young, with 18 years of service; and
WHEREAS, these retirees are worthy of commendation and recognition for their unselfish commitment and total dedication to the students of the Columbus Municipal School District; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to commend excellence, especially when evidenced by people who have dedicated so many years of their lives to developing and cultivating the minds and bodies of the many young Mississippians with whom they have come in contact during their illustrious careers:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby recognize, commend and congratulate all those educators and school staff employees who retired in 1996 and 1997 from the Columbus Municipal School District after giving so many years of dedicated service in educating the youth of this state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the Board of Trustees of the columbus Municipal School District and to members of the Capitol Press Corps.
