A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING SHIRLEY M. HENRY UPON THE ACCESSION OF HER FIFTY-FIFTH BIRTHDAY AND COMMENDING HER FOR HER MANY YEARS OF CHRISTIAN SERVICE.
WHEREAS, Shirley M. Henry was born on January 27, 1942; and
WHEREAS, Shirley M. Henry, who has been a mother and a friend to her younger siblings, has always served as a leader in both her family and her community; and
WHEREAS, when their mother died, Shirley M. Henry filled the void, seeing that her family did not have to go without and that everyone was well taken care of; and
WHEREAS, Shirley M. Henry is a true friend to all who know her; and
WHEREAS, Shirley M. Henry, who has always given of herself to help others in her community, regularly feeds and clothes many people in and around her community; and
WHEREAS, the saying, "the true calling of a Christian is not to do extraordinary things, but to do ordinary things in an extraordinary way," best describes Shirley M. Henry; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to commend excellence, especially when it is shown by one who gives of herself for the betterment of others in her community:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby congratulate Shirley M. Henry upon the accession of her fifty-fifth birthday and commend her for her many years of Christian service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Shirley M. Henry and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
