A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING DANA B. BRAMMER UPON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI. 

WHEREAS, Dana B. Brammer joined the faculty of the University of Mississippi in 1960 and has contributed to the education of literally hundreds and hundreds of students; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Brammer has served as a trusted advisor for generations of undergraduates studying public administration at the University of Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Brammer has performed an invaluable service as a trusted and respected colleague in the Department of Political Science at the University of Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, a true leader, Mr. Brammer has played a central role in the development and operation of the Bureau of Governmental Research, serving as Assistant Director, Associate Director and Director; and he has played a central role in the development and operation of the Public Policy Research Center, serving as Associate Director and presently as Director; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Brammer has served as the Editor of the Public Administration Survey since 1968; he has served on the Executive Council of the Mississippi Political Science Association and as its President during the 1989-1990 academic year; he has served on the Executive Council of the Mississippi Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration; he has served as consultant on Executive/Legislative/Judicial Relationships of the Mississippi State Personnel Board; he has served as a member of the Election and Selection Subcommittee of the Mississippi State Personnel Board; and he has served as a member of the Statewide Advisory Council of the Water Resources Research Institute; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Brammer has overseen preparation of the Handbook for Mississippi Legislators, used by members of the Mississippi House of Representatives and Senate, and he has served as a Coordinator for the Quadrennial Short Course for Mississippi Legislators; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to commend the great citizens of the State of Mississippi who have dedicated their lives to educating the youth of our state:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Dana B. Brammer upon his retirement from the University of Mississippi and wish him continued success in all of his future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Dana B. Brammer and to members of the Capitol Press Corps.
