A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION MEMORIALIZING THE GOVERNOR AND THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO PROCESS APPLICATIONS FOR A PERMIT TO CARRY A CONCEALED WEAPON WITHIN 30 DAYS OF RECEIPT; TO ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FOR A PERMIT TO CARRY A CONCEALED WEAPON AT ANY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY DISTRICT OFFICE BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 8:00 A.M. AND 5:00 P.M., EXCEPT FOR SATURDAYS, SUNDAYS AND LEGAL HOLIDAYS; AND TO STUDY THE ACTUAL COST OF PROCESSING SUCH APPLICATIONS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That the Legislature does hereby memorialize the Governor and the Department of Public Safety to process applications for a permit to carry a concealed weapon within thirty days of receipt; to accept applications for a permit to carry a concealed weapon at any Department of Public Safety district office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., except for Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays; and to study the actual cost of processing such applications.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the Governor and the Executive Director of the Department of Public Safety.
