House Concurrent Resolution 33
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING JENNIFER STECKLER ON BEING NAMED MISS MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY.
WHEREAS, Jennifer Steckler, the daughter of Dr. David and Dale Steckler and a senior at Mississippi State University, was voted Miss Mississippi State University by the student body; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer Steckler was given the honor of being named Miss Mississippi State University right before Mississippi State University Homecoming Queen was crowned and she was applauded by the thousands of football fans who crowded Scott Field Stadium; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer Steckler has made many memories as an active student including serving as Secretary for Mississippi State University Student Association, President of Chi Omega Sorority and Secretary and Treasurer of Mississippi State University's chapter of Ducks Unlimited; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer Steckler also served as a Roadrunner, a Mississippi State University student recruiting officer, a Mississippi State University Panhellenic Representative and an executive council member of the Catholic Student Association; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer Steckler is also a member of Mortor Board and Order of Omega honoraries, College Republicans and International Business Club; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer Steckler was equally active in the Natchez community serving on the Mayor's Youth Council, volunteering for Stewpot, St. Judes Hospital and tutoring for Holy Family Catholic School; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to commend excellence, especially when it is exhibited by the youth, who are the future of this state:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MISSISSIPPI HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Jennifer Steckler on being named Miss Mississippi State University.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Jennifer Steckler and the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
