AN ACT TO ALLOW A PURCHASER OF A MOTOR VEHICLE TO RETURN SUCH MOTOR VEHICLE FOR A REFUND WITHIN FORTY-EIGHT HOURS OF PURCHASE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, any person who purchases a new or used motor vehicle may return such motor vehicle within forty-eight (48) hours of such purchase for a full refund regardless of any defects. The purchaser shall reimburse the seller for any damage or unusual wear and tear to such motor vehicle which was caused during the forty-eight (48) hours that such motor vehicle was in the purchaser's possession.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1997.
