Title: AN ACT TO CREATE A NEW CODE SECTION TO BE CODIFIED AS SECTION 25-11-126, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT ANY PERSON RECEIVING A RETIREMENT ALLOWANCE FROM THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM WHO WAS A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER AT THE TIME OF RETIREMENT MAY CONTINUE RECEIVING THE RETIREMENT ALLOWANCE AND BE EMPLOYED IN STATE SERVICE AS A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER BY A DIFFERENT AGENCY THAN THE ONE FROM WHICH THE PERSON RETIRED; TO PROVIDE THAT THOSE PERSONS SHALL NOT BE CONTRIBUTING MEMBERS OF THE RETIREMENT SYSTEM NOR RECEIVE ANY CREDITABLE SERVICE FOR THE PERIOD DURING WHICH THEY RECEIVE A RETIREMENT ALLOWANCE DURING THEIR EMPLOYMENT; TO AMEND SECTIONS 25-11-105 AND 25-11-127, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, IN CONFORMITY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
