Title: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 71-3-17, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT PROFESSIONAL FIRE FIGHTERS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS WHO ARE INJURED DUE TO THEIR EMPLOYMENT SHALL RECEIVE A CERTAIN INCREASED AMOUNT OF WORKERS' COMPENSATION BENEFITS FOR A PERIOD OF UP TO ONE YEAR FROM THE DATE THESE BENEFITS FOR SUCH INJURY BEGIN; TO PROVIDE THAT SUCH BENEFITS ARE SUBORDINATE TO OTHER DISABILITY COMPENSATION; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
