Title: AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT THE PROCEEDS OF A LIFE INSURANCE POLICY BECOME DUE AS OF THE DATE OF THE DEATH OF THE INSURED; TO REQUIRE INSURERS ADMITTED TO TRANSACT LIFE INSURANCE IN THIS STATE TO PAY INTEREST ON PROCEEDS OF CERTAIN LIFE INSURANCE POLICIES; TO PROVIDE THAT SUCH INTEREST SHALL BE COMPUTED FROM THE INSURED'S DEATH UNTIL THE DATE OF PAYMENT; TO AMEND SECTION 25-15-9, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO ALLOW ANY SCHOOL DISTRICT, COMMUNITY/JUNIOR COLLEGE DISTRICT OR PUBLIC LIBRARY UNTIL OCTOBER 1, 2004, TO CHOOSE A CERTAIN POLICY OR POLICIES OF GROUP LIFE INSURANCE WITH AN INSURANCE COMPANY APPROVED BY THE STATE AND SCHOOL EMPLOYEES HEALTH INSURANCE MANAGEMENT BOARD IN LIEU OF PARTICIPATION IN THE STATE AND SCHOOL LIFE INSURANCE PLAN; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
