Title: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 97-3-7, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO INCLUDE SOCIAL WORKERS, CERTAIN JUDGES, PROSECUTORS AND OTHER COURT PERSONNEL OR OFFICERS OF THE COURT IN THE ENHANCED PENALTY PROVISION OF THE ASSAULT STATUTE; TO REVISE THE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROVISION OF THE ASSAULT STATUTE; TO AMEND SECTION 97-37-7, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO AUTHORIZE DISTRICT ATTORNEYS AND THEIR LEGAL ASSISTANTS TO CARRY CONCEALED WEAPONS; TO PROVIDE THAT AN ARREST WARRANT MAY BE ISSUED AGAINST PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS CHARGED WITH A CRIME ALLEGED TO HAVE OCCURRED WHILE IN THE PERFORMANCE OF DUTY ONLY AFTER COMPLIANCE WITH CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
