Title: AN ACT TO PROHIBIT UNFAIR TRADE PRACTICES IN THE BUSINESS OF INSURANCE; TO DEFINE CERTAIN TERMS USED IN THIS ACT; TO DEFINE CERTAIN PRACTICES AS UNFAIR TRADE PRACTICES; TO PROHIBIT FAVORED AGENTS OR INSURERS AND THE COERCION OF DEBTORS; TO AUTHORIZE THE COMMISSIONER OF INSURANCE TO ISSUE CEASE AND DESIST ORDERS AND MONETARY PENALTY ORDERS UPON INSURERS FOUND TO HAVE ENGAGED IN UNFAIR TRADE PRACTICES; TO PROVIDE FOR JUDICIAL REVIEW OF ORDERS; TO AUTHORIZE A MONETARY PENALTY FOR VIOLATING THE CEASE AND DESIST ORDERS; TO AUTHORIZE THE COMMISSIONER OF INSURANCE TO PROMULGATE REASONABLE RULES, REGULATIONS AND ORDERS AS ARE NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT; TO REPEAL SECTIONS 83-5-29 THROUGH 83-5-51, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH REGULATE TRADE PRACTICES IN THE BUSINESS OF INSURANCE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
