Title: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 37-106-29, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO INCREASE THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF AWARDS THAT MAY BE GIVEN UNDER THE MISSISSIPPI RESIDENT TUITION ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM; TO CREATE A SPECIAL FUND IN THE STATE TREASURY WHICH SHALL BE USED TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR THE MISSISSIPPI RESIDENT TUITION ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM; TO CREATE A SPECIAL FUND IN THE STATE TREASURY WHICH SHALL BE USED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF STATE INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING FOR THE REPAIR, RENOVATION AND MAINTENANCE OF FACILITIES AT THE THREE HISTORICALLY BLACK INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING IN MISSISSIPPI; TO AMEND SECTION 27-103-203, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT A PORTION OF THE UNENCUMBERED CASH BALANCE IN THE STATE GENERAL FUND AT THE END OF EACH FISCAL YEAR SHALL BE TRANSFERRED INTO THE MISSISSIPPI RESIDENT TUITION ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM FUND; TO PROVIDE THAT ALL INTEREST EARNED ON THE WORKING-CASH STABILIZATION RESERVE FUND IN EXCESS OF THE AMOUNTS NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN THE BALANCE REQUIREMENT IN THE FUND SHALL BE DEPOSITED INTO THE HISTORICALLY BLACK INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING ASSISTANCE FUND; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
